Win a trip to Japan: British Judo launches Your Sport Needs You Competition
British Judo is giving our clubs the chance to win the trip of a lifetime to Japan as we launch a new competition today (8 December 2014).
Winning a trip to the home of judo is the top prize, however there is also the chance for clubs to win tickets to the 2015 European Championships – the UK’s showcase event of 2015 taking place in Glasgow between 9 and 12 April.
Alongside the competition British Judo is also launching the new Club Reward Scheme, that will reward clubs who grow their membership.
All Clubs in England will be automatically opted in to the Your Sport Needs You Competition and any club growing their membership by two or more between today and 20th February 2015, will be rewarded with entries into the prize draw.
One entry is obtained by growing your membership by two, with further entries available for every additional two members. Additionally, clubs will get two tickets to the 2015 European Championships in April every time they grow by two members.
Entry could not be simpler, the more that a club grows its members the more chance they have to win a place. For example if a club starts out with a membership of 20 and on 20 February, when entry closes, their membership is at 26, they will be awarded with three entries into the prize draw and six tickets to the European Championships. |
British Judo Chief Executive, Andrew Scoular, said: “We’re delighted to be able to reward our clubs for growing their membership with the Your Sport Needs You Competition and the new Club Reward Scheme. This is all about growing the sport nationally and to do that we need the help of our clubs at grass roots level. A larger membership base can bring more income into the club and make any club more sustainable.
“We all know that the New Year period is a time where thousands of people are looking at sport with renewed interest. It’s a prime time to capitalise on the interest and bring in new people in to your judo clubs, particularly following our home nations success at the Commonwealth Games and in the build up to the European Championships in April.”
