British Judo embraces exciting new opportunity for self development
British Judo have teamed up with Climbing Out to help current and former judoka who may be struggling following life changing injury, illness or trauma.
As part of the ongoing British Judo mental health and wellbeing strategy British Judo are exploring new, exciting initiatives to enhance the support already available within the performance system and wider community.
Climbing Out is an outdoor activity programme that is aimed at rebuilding confidence and self-esteem in people who have been through a life changing injury, illness or trauma. The programmes give participants the opportunity to take part in challenging yet fun activities whilst meeting others who’ve been through shared experiences. The activities are run hand in hand with personal development and life coaching sessions to enable participants to accept what they’ve been through and to start to see a new way forwards. The team of instructors will support individuals to work around any physical or mental limitations they may be facing, keeping everything achievable whilst stretching people’s boundaries too.
Climbing Out is a registered charity that offers fully funded places for its 5 day outdoor activity programmes in locations across the United Kingdom.
