Young judo stars showcase skills at SportsAid dinner
Four next generation judo players will showcase their skills during a demonstration at the SportsAid Yorkshire Showcase Dinner in 2014 being held at the Leeds City Hilton on Friday 7 March 2014.
Aspiring 2020 Olympians will be performing their best moves on each other as guests arrive to the glamorous drinks reception between 6:30pm and 7:30pm.
In action will be Molly Storey, (-52kg) who took bronze medallist from the British Championships in her last year as a cadet and her sister Ellie, an up and coming cadet in her first year.
Connor Potts of Goole, the current -50kg British cadet champion will also demonstrate along with VI Junior Champion Chris Skelley who came up through the England programme and is now on the Great Britain Visually Impaired squad judoka. He is fresh from his bronze success at last weekend’s VI European Open.
The black tie event feature a drinks reception, three course meal, live sport and music and guests will be given a fantastic opportunity to hear from one of Yorkshire’s London 2012 starts, Olympic gold medal winning boxer, Luke Campbell MBE.
During the evening the event, sponsored by three Yorkshire-based companies aims to raise funds for Yorkshire’s stars of tomorrow, helping these talented athletes to continue on their journey to Rio 2016 and beyond.
Over the past 37 years, SportsAid has provided essential support to some of the countries sporting legends including Sebastian Coe and Jessica Ennis-Hill and Luke Campbell himself.
