Vacancy: Safeguarding Case Management Personnel
The British Judo Association are looking to expand the membership of it Safeguarding Case Management Group (CMG).
A CMG is a small committee with identified, relevant skills, knowledge and experience of risk assessment within a Safeguarding/Child Protection environment. Its role is to initially assess and agree an immediate response to the more serious safeguarding concerns brought to the attention of the BJA Safeguarding Manager.
We are looking for a wide range of perspectives with either strategic or operational management within safeguarding, child protection or the management of violent or sex offenders. This will most likely be within a social work, probation or policing environment but those from other backgrounds, with the relevant skills will also be considered.
Successful applicants would be expected to discuss relevant cases in a phone or video conference in the first instance. Face to face meetings are rarely necessary. It is anticipated that the role will require up to 4 hours per month. This is a voluntary role but any reasonable expenses will be paid by the BJA.
It is likely that candidates will be able to evidence most, if not all of the following criteria:
- Experience of multi-agency risk assessments and management of risks
- A background in strategic or operational management within Safeguarding/Child Protection
- A detailed knowledge of legislation and guidance regarding safeguarding
- A background in social work, probation, policing or other relevant roles
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A relevant professional or academic qualification
