Vacancy: Performance Welfare Officer

British Judo’s Performance Vision is to ‘Create medal-winning athletes at every Olympic and Paralympic games.’ This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance environment alongside world-class athletes and the next generation of Olympic and Paralympic judoka.

Ensuring that the overall welfare and well-being needs of athletes on the World-Class Performance Programme and the Talent Pathway are met will be a key priority of the role.

Through the development and implementation of safeguarding and welfare policies the Welfare Officer will also contribute to a positive culture and environment that will allow both elite and developing athletes to thrive off and on the mat.

The Welfare Officer will also work alongside the Performance Lifestyle Advisor to support athletes in their transition in and out of an elite performance environment.

Prior experience in a boarding/pastoral care environment with a full understanding of the social and personal needs of today’s teenagers will be important.

The Welfare Officer will be expected to live on-site or live at an absolute maximum of 20 minutes away from the British Judo Centre of Excellence in Walsall.
