Tallin first stop on new cycle
The focus this weekend may be on Rio as our Paralympic judoka take to the mat but the first world ranking event since the Rio Olympic Games sees seven British judoka in action in Estonia for the Tallin European Open on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September.
On the opening day Kelly Edwards (-52kg) continues her return from concussion off the back of a bronze medal performance in the Saarbrucken European Cup last month. Bekky Livesey (-57kg) won her first senior continental open medal earlier this year in Madrid and will be hoping to bring that form to the mat once again.
Lucy Renshall (-63kg) will be aiming to improve on a couple of fifth place finishes in the Budapest Grand Prix and Madrid European Open this year while Sam Hall (-66kg) and Jonathan Dewar (-66kg) will be looking for a strong showing in a solid field.
On Sunday former Junior World medallists Ebony Drysdale-Daley (-70kg) and Jemima Yeats-Brown (-70kg) will be looking to build on some encouraging performances during the summer with Drysdale-Daley marking her international return with gold in Saarbrucken while Yeats-Brown medalled in Madrid earlier this year.
Competition starts at 0800 GMT on both days with live coverage via eju.net. Follow @BritishJudo on Twitter for medal updates on British performances in Tallin
