Silver for Powell at IBSA World Championships
On the final day of the IBSA World Championships, two-time Paralympian Daniel Powell produced the performance of his life to take a silver medal in the J1 -90kg category.

Powell registered a waza-ari early against Valerio Teodori (ITA) before a throw for ippon score secured his place in the Final to face former Paralympic Champion, Cyril Jonard (FRA).
Jonard registered a waza-ari score in the opening exchange to take the early advantage. Powell later went to ground in an attempt to pin his opponent in an osaekomi hold down but was countered by Jonard who pinned him for a second waza-ari score.
The result saw Powell win silver to record the greatest result in his judo career.
