Record-breaking Female Fighters Festival

Saturday (2nd March) saw the return of the third annual Female Fighters Festival. The British Judo Olympic and Paralympic National Training Centre welcomed over 100 female judoka of all ages and abilities.

In addition to practical sessions led by the likes of Gemma Howell, Sophie Cox and Yoko Tanabe, there were opportunities for attendees to learn more about nutrition and the wider benefits of judo. There was also a presentation by The Well HQ.

British Judo Events Lead, Jessica Hastings commented: “It was such an amazing day celebrating our female fighters. I would like to thank everybody for supporting the festival, it was fantastic to see so many women and girls of all ages and abilities on the mat, creating new friendships and learning new skills along the way.”

The Female Fighters Festival is a way of celebrating all that is great within out female membership, from grassroots to elite level. Judoka from all backgrounds united to inspire the next generation of female fighters.

Judo Knight are staging their own Female Fighters Festival, to celebrate International Women’s Day this week. Saturday 9th March will see women unite to take part in a range of sports from judo, kick boxing, pilates and Zumba, all for free!
