Northamptonshire to host Month of Judo

For the first time ever this month Northamptonshire will be gripped by a ‘Month of Judo’ – a series of events hosted across Northamptonshire championing the sport.

There are eight events scheduled to run at several locations across the county giving individuals the opportunity to try, return to and develop their judo.

Get back into the sport if you’ve been away with Return to Judo Week (21st-27th September) or refine your skills at special masterclasses with former Olympian Steve Gawthorpe (14th September) or current GB player Nekoda Davis (26th September). Alternatively, join the growing and judo workforce by enrolling on a Table Officials (12th September) or First Steps into Coaching Course (19th September).

British Judo Eastern Area Service Manager, Laurence Keynon said: “I am hoping that the ‘Month of Judo’ will raise the profile of the sport of judo in Northamptonshire and increase numbers participating at all ages, by getting everyone involved in sport together in a short sharp burst of judo energy”.
