No Dojo? No Problem! Derbyshire Coach Builds His Own!
A Derbyshire Coaching hopeful has fulfilled his dream and built his own Dojo in his back garden!
John Lees, currently living in Derbyshire, is currently studying hard for his British Judo Association Coaching badges whilst helping out at Derby Olympic Judo Club to gain experience within teaching and he is absolutely loving it. So much so that he has built his own dojo to continue his coaching dream.
John has been participating in judo from the age of six and still holds a great passion for it. He has two sons that are now following in his footsteps and showing great promise and we are sure that they are the envy of everyone at their local judo club with their new training venue.
“I am really pleased with the way its turned out. I’m extremely happy to be able to train my sons in there and hopefully produce a GB team member in the future” John described.
The dojo itself took just 3-4 weeks and £6,000 to construct with John working on the project in his spare time in between working as a Roofer in the Midlands.
His wife, Sam Lees said, “He built the project to enable him to train himself and children at home with in his own time constraints. This has definitely been something John has always wanted to do and now he can!”
