Nekoda Davis delivers masterclasses at Vale Judo Club for ThisGirlCan
GB Athlete Nekoda Davis visited Vale Judo Club in Rutland on Saturday to deliver two female only masterclass sessions as part of the Sport England’s ThisGirlCan campaign.
44 people from across the region took part in the two sessions, with an under 16 session in the morning proceeding a 16 and over session in the afternoon.
The day culminated in a Q & A session where Nekoda gave the participants some insight into her life as a GB judoka. The participants then had the chance to get autographs and photos with Nekoda.
ThisGirlCan is a national campaign aimed at getting more women doing sport on a regular basis. The drive complements British Judo’s own Throw Yourself Into Judo campaign aimed at encouraging more people to try the sport.
“I’ve had a really good day today”, said Nekoda.
“It was really nice working with a massive group of girls who were enthusiastic and really wanted to learn new things.
“Also I was really flattered because they were all inspired by me and they were asking such good questions right at the end.
“It was really good to do these sessions today for the This Girl Can and Throw Yourself Into Judo campaigns because its important for girls to get into judo and stay”.
