Calling All Female Judoka! National Dan Grade and Ladies Open Opportunities!
Samurai Judo Club are holding a number of events targeted at female judoka over the course of 2020.
The first of which will be a Ladies Open due to be held on Sunday 19th April.
The event will see five different categories running throughout the day including:
GROUP A: Young Women and Kyu Grades – minimum age 14 years, maximum grade 18th mon or 2nd kyu
GROUP B: Masters Women – minimum age 30 years
GROUP C: Masters Women – minimum age 45 years
GROUP D: Women High Grades – categories: 1st kyu 1st dan 2nd dan & above
GROUP E: Open categories, to be run at the end of the event, separated by weight
There are no weight categories throughout any of the competitions. All players will be sorted into groups by weight, age and grade.
Group C, because of numbers, is likely to be a single category.
Players are encouraged to participate in all categories that they qualify for – one entry fee covers all.
Entry fees have been set at £15.00 per player but £18.00 if you enter and only pay on the day.

The second event will be a National Dan Grading for female judoka taking place on Sunday 10th May 2020.
This will be a one-off national grading for women currently graded 1st Kyu to 4th Dan.
Eligibility: all candidates must hold current BJA membership and be a minimum of 15 years of age.
For Dan grades, please note that it is the COMPETITIVE Dan grade which is the relevant grade. For example, a competitive 2nd Dan who holds a technical 3rd Dan is regarded for the purposes of this grading as a 2nd Dan.
Spaces are available for £17.00 if booked in advance, with entries available on the day for £20.00.
Both events will take place at Samurai Judo Club, Zortech Avenue, Kidderminster DY11 7DY.
