Junior Champions crowned in Sheffield

The rain may have been falling in Sheffield for the penultimate day of the British Championships, but the juniors in action today certainly turned up the temperature inside the EIS Arena.

16 British Champions were crowned as attention turned to our junior and senior age groups this weekend.

Camberley JC celebrated two champions as Summer Shaw defended her -48kg title, whilst Katie Mills dominated the -63kg category.

Another judoka to defend her title was Chloe Link (Relentless) in the -57kg category.

Dragons Academy enjoyed two national champions as Holly Devall took -70kg gold and Laurence Hill took the -55kg title.

Lewis Fryer (Rush Judo) marked his step up to the -66kg category by claiming his second national junior title whilst Eryk Neumann (Hardy Spicer 83) claimed his first national junior title as he took gold in the -73kg category.

Luke Austen overcame Core Judo teammate Cameron Hickey to claim the -90kg title – his second national title in as many years, as he claimed the -81kg title in 2022. That crown went to Alexander Stojanowski (Judo Sensi London) in 2023.

Chloe Baker (SKK) improved upon her silver medal in 2022 to take the +78kg crown. Whilst in the +100kg category, Daniel Ede (Westcroft) successfully defended his title.
