Judo to showcase on BBC presented by sporting legends

Judo will showcase on the BBC during the Commonwealth Games and there will be four experienced judo commentators hosting the programmes dedicated to judo that will feature on BBC 1, 2 and 3 as well as on the red button.

Presenting judo commentary at the Games will be Neil Adams MBE, his wife Niki Adams plus Sheldon Franco-Rooks and Chloe Cowen.

Neil Adams, a double Olympic silver medallist, who was one of the official expert commentators for the judo event at London 2012 and Paralympic Games, said: “I feel absolutely delighted to be selected to present the judo commentary at the Commonwealth Games. The home countries should be well placed for medals, alongside Australia and Canada. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our sport.”

Niki is an announcer for CSM Sport and Entertainment LLP where she covered last year’s Sainsbury’s School Games and she has also been a technical commentator for Sunset and Vine Productions for the BBC’s run up programmes on the Commonwealth Games. Her CV also includes working on the 2000 Sydney Olympic Summer Games.

Sheldon regularly presents for the International Judo Federation’s internet channel, ippon.tv and Chloe Cowen is also an experienced athlete and commentator.
