IJF World Tour Heads to Tel Aviv Whilst VI Team Travel to IBSA German Open

Thursday sees the IJF World Tour head to Israel for the start of the Tel Aviv Grand Slam. This is the second time the Israeli capital has staged a Grand Slam following its promotion from Grand Prix in 2021.

This weekend’s IBSA Heidelberg German Open will see our VI fighters compete in the newly revised weight categories that have been introduced ahead of Paris Paralympic Games.

IBSA Baku Grand Slam 7th place finisher Evan Molloy (-90kg) is joined by Cameron Bradley (-90kg) who topped the Junior podium in Germany back in 2020. The pair are joined by GB Para Potential fighters Connah Anders (-73kg), Jimmy Alderson (-90kg), Evie Gormley (-57kg) and Emily Betts (-70kg).

Thursday

Gregg Varey trades his place behind the camera for a role in front of it. Usually found working for the IJF video streaming team, Welsh judoka Varey, competing in the -66kg category, will face Daikii Bouba (FRA) who recently placed 5th at the Paris Grand Slam.

Gregg Varey won his 18th national medal as he was crowned National Champion in December.
