Celebrating 100 years of British Judo and The Budokwai
Saturday 3rd February 2018 will mark a special occasion in the rich history of The Budokwai Martial Arts Club as it celebrates it’s 100th anniversary.
Originally founded in 1918 by Gunji Koizumi, The Budokwai is the oldest and most famous Japanese martial arts club across Europe and has seen many stars of the sport grace its mat over that time. At the time, it was the first judo club in Europe. Some of the most distinguished figures in the history of the sport have trained or taught at the club including several Olympic medalists.
To celebrate this event, The Budokwai will be holding a 100 Year Celebration Dinner at the Rembrandt Hotel, Kensington on Saturday 3rd February 2018.
The evening will celebrate major milestones from the history of the club along with appearances from some famous faces of its past including the likes of Brian Jacks, Dave Starbrook, Neil Adams, Angelo Parisi, Ray Stevens together with a host of Japanese athletes.
Tickets are selling fast for the event and look likely to sell out shortly. Tickets are priced at £50.00 per head which includes a three course dinner with wine.
