British Judo’s Visually Impaired team is getting ready to take part in the IBSA World Cup and Junior World Games in Eger, Hungary fighting today, Friday 20 February, to Sunday 23 February.

With the IBSA Judo World Cup featuring as a ranking event for the Rio 2016 Paralympic games, interest in taking part has been phenomenal.

Two hundred VI judokas representing thirty-two countries will compete in the tournament, with back-up from around 100 coaches and support staff.

The IBSA Judo World Cup 2015 is also a key event in preparations for the biggest and most important VI judo event this year at the IBSA World Games in Seoul, South Korea, in May.

Organised by the Hungarian Paralympic Committee, the IBSA Judo World Cup 2015 will be supported by professional staff from the Hungarian Judo Federation.

Great Britain’s Jono Drane (81kg), who landed bronze at the 2014 World Championships in September in the United States will be in action along with Paralympic silver medallist Sam Ingram (90kg).

Also in action are Gavin Towers (73kg), Chris Skelley (100kg), Jack Hodgson (+100kg) and Natalie Greenhough (70kg).

The full team will compete over the three day event and also stay on for a training camp.
