Get ready for BUCS Championships in Sheffield this weekend

Good luck to all of the British Judo members from Universities across the country who are looking forward to the British University and Colleges (BUCS) Sport Judo Championships 2015 taking place from Saturday to Sunday 21 and 22 February at All Saints School, Sheffield.

The two day event, that happens once a year, will see individual dan grades compete on Saturday, kyu grades (orange belt and above) on Sunday followed by a teams competition. Each competitor will be looking to earn BUCS points for their university.

Ahead of the Championships we spoke to Kasemi Chujor (4th Kyu) from Loughborough University, Chairman and one of the players competing in the Kyu grades on Sunday.

“I’m looking forward to the event, I weigh in on Saturday and I am trying to make -90kg, it will be an exciting event and I wish everyone at our club good luck.”

For further information on the BUCS competition contact Matt Judson on 0207633499 or email matt.judson@bucs.org.uk

The event follows on from two student events hosted by the respected Universites in partnership with BUCS and British Judo, Sheffield University and the University of East London to provide additional opportunities outside of the British University, Colleges and Schools (BUCS) Judo Championships for students to access competitive judo.
