Georgina Singleton eyes BOA Athletes’ Commission role

Dear all,

My name is Georgina Bevan nee Singleton and for those of you that remember me hello; and for those of you that don’t I’ll introduce myself.

I had a successful international judo career for 15 years and in that time I won various European medals and placed in Olympic and World Championships.

I am emailing you to ask you for your support in my bid to become a member of the BOA Athlete’s Commission.   I believe judo should be represented on this commission with the other Olympic sports to ensure the needs of our sport are taken into account when team GB prepares for Rio 2016.

I am aware of the issues that can arise for potential Olympians, ranging from selection issues to training needs and I want to take an active part in these issues to ensure judo fulfils its potential in Rio 2016.  Please see attached my mission statement and vote for me when you receive your email from the BOA.

Former Olympians and those players currently holding a valid BOA passport are eligible to vote.

The voting is from Friday 14th December until Friday 28th December.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your support and wish you luck with your future careers.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Georgina Bevan nee Singleton
