Six of British Judo’s top SN judoka will be going for gold at the 2016 Dutch Open G-Judo Championships on Saturday 5 November in Baarlo.

Over 30 of the best Special Needs judoka from across Europe will be looking to top the medal rostrum at one of the top SN Judo competitions in the continent.

A number of the British team have medal winning experience from last year’s competition which saw GB judoka come away with five medals in total including gold for Pro Judo Club’s Christopher Murphy at -81kg. The 2015 Special Olympics medallist is back again having also topped the medal rostrum in 2014.

Thomas Mawdsley (-66kg) and David Woodland (+100kg) both picked up silvers last year in strong fields and will be hoping to go one better. Stuart Jackman (-100kg) fought at +100kg last year picking up bronze but has moved down to -100kg for this year’s competition.

Dan Jeffries (-73kg) and Ross Carswell (-90kg) did not medal last year and will be wanting to join their teammates on the medal rostrum with Carswell having won gold at this year’s British Open SN Championships.
