A 36 strong GB Judo Junior contingent from across the Home Nations is in action at the Berlin Junior European Cup this week from Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 July.
The event in Berlin is always one of the hardest fought on the IJF Junior World Tour and this year will be no different.
However, a number of the British team has tasted success this year so they will be confident of challenging for medals.
-57kg duo of Acelya Toprak and Josie Steele have had a good year, most recently at the Pak Junior European Cup earlier this month when they took home gold and bronze respectively.
Yasmin Javadian has impressed in her first year as a Junior athlete, winning three -52kg Junior European Cup medals to date.
At -78kg Shelley Ludford has performed well having only moved up a weight at the end the end of 2017. Gold at the Kaunas Junior European Cup has been the highlight alongside silver at the International Thuringia Cup and bronze in Coimbra.
Jaime-Leigh Whitaker (-44kg), Sian Bobrowska (-48kg), Molly Harvey (-52kg), Olivia Spellman (-63kg) and Wesley Greenidge (+100kg) have also medalled at Junior European Cup level this year and will be hoping to bring that form onto the mat in Berlin
