England Judo Kicks off 2021 Training Schedule
2021 has started in fine form with the first England Talent Development (ETD) camp of the year being held virtually over the weekend of 9th & 10th January. Over the two days, 115 fighters completed profiling tasks as well as engaging in a range of mobility and conditioning circuits.
This weekend saw 170 REDS complete their first camp of the year. Saturday saw our youngest fighters (Minors and Pre-Cadets) put through their paces with delivery on Tachi-waza and Ne-waza technical and mobility fundamentals, a press up challenge and a conditioning circuit. Sunday saw the REDS Cadets complete some of the ETD profiling as well as conditioning circuits and technical and mobility fundamentals.
England Talent Coaches, Jason Parsons and Sophie Cox, are delivering a Zoom session every Tuesday evening to support fighters during lockdown, you do not need to be a member of the talent squad to attend the sessions (we are currently running two session on a Tuesday, one session aimed at 12 – 17 year olds and one aimed at 18 years+). The sessions are open to all, follow the link below to sign up for the next session. Last week saw over 200 fighters active across the two sessions!

January has also seen the launch of our new app to help with communication and support training. We really hope that this will have a positive impact for our fighters during the lockdown period and beyond.
We are proud of the team and their efforts to continue training over the various phases of lockdown. Maintaining focus and regular training has been tough but with the support of clubs, coaches, and parents our fighters will be fit to return to the mat as soon as we are able to.
Thank you to all that sent positive feedback over the last few weeks!
