Eastern Area Open is a huge success in new venue
The Eastern Area Open Championships between 16 and 17 August was held at the new Breckland Leisure Centre venue with great success.
The new venue is ideal for hosting large national competitions and area officials used the area care system for the first time on all three mats on the Saturday.
Age bands of under 12s pre cadets and cadets took place on the Saturday with approximately 200 competitors.
The senior ranking section on the Sunday attracted 80 competitors and a good crowd.
The judo began with the junior section and the quality of judo was good.
Within the cadet section of the competition the quality and technical standard was very also of a high standard as was the senior competition.
The competition officials ensured this was a successful weekend with very good feedback from players, coaches and parents.
Overall it was an enjoyable day of judo for all those attending.
The Eastern Area will be looking to host junior events alongside senior events at the new venue after this successful event.
