DCMS has this week launched a Tailored Review into UK Anti-Doping (UKAD). UKAD is the UK’s National Anti-Doping Organisation responsible for ensuring sports in the UK are compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code. UKAD is sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and implements and manages the Government’s National Anti-Doping Policy.

The Tailored Reviews form part of the Government’s public bodies reform programme and replace the Triennial Reviews which UK Sport and Sport England undertook in 2015. Please see the announcement link below:

The results will form part of a review on UKAD’s status as a DCMS-sponsored Non-Departmental Public Body, and whether its functions are appropriate. The review will then go on to consider the efficiency, effectiveness and governance of UKAD and how it is preparing for the future.

As part of the call for evidence the Government is running a public consultation. Responses are encouraged from a whole range of sports stakeholders including NGBs, athletes, athlete support personnel, parents, sports administrators, event organisers, sponsors. This survey is also now open (link below) and closes on 15 May.
