CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION: IJF & BJA

The International Judo Federation and British Judo Association are pleased to provide the opportunity for aspiring sports writers to put their judo knowledge and creativity to the test, in a real-world context!

Writers should compose an article-style piece no more than 1000 words in length on one of the subjects listed below.

SUBJECTS

  • Choose one of the judo values, as found on the IJF website.
  • A World Judo Tour judoka of the writer’s choice: a technical study.
  • A World Judo Tour judoka of the writer’s choice: how they inspire.

EACH SUBMISSION SHOULD FOLLOW THE FORMAT BELOW:

  • IJF -18 Writing Competition (surname of the writer)
  • IJF Adult Writing Competition (surname of the writer)

You must include a couple of sentences about yourself (the writer) and your link to the sport of judo, your full name, age and club. Entries open Thursday 25th August and close Monday 5th September. Entries received outside of these dates will not be included in the competition.

SUBMISSIONS SHOULD BE SENT VIA EMAIL DIRECTLY TO JO@IJF.ORG

On Monday 12th September all writers will be emailed to thank you for your efforts and one article from each category will be selected to be published on the IJF website, to be read by thousands of judoka and judo fans all around the world.
