British Judo to undertake Independent Performance Review
Following the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the British Judo Association has appointed a panel of high level performance experts to complete an independent review of our elite performance programme.
The panel will be Chaired by Sir Clive Woodward, Director of Sport for the BOA, and also include Mark Palios, Independent Board member, Roy Inman OBE, Board member, and Dave Reddin, Performance Consultant.
Sir Clive Woodward is an internationally recognised performance expert having led England to victory in the 2003 Rugby World Cup, and has been Director of Sport at the BOA/Team GB since 2006 covering both Beijing and London Olympic and Paralympic Games .
Mark Palios had a lengthy career as a professional footballer and has vast senior level experience in the private sector and also as CEO of the Football Association, whilst Roy Inman was the most successful performance judo coach in the history of British Judo.
Completing the panel will be Dave Reddin, a highly respected elite performance expert and consultant who most recently served as the Head of Performance Services for the Team GB at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Association is delighted with the calibre of the panel members and the range of expertise they bring to the table. The Panel has been asked to review all elements of our performance operations and will make recommendations which will be used to inform our future strategy for Rio and beyond. They will involve a multitude of key stakeholders to ensure all views are considered.
British Judo Chief Executive Scott McCarthy said: “After a successful Olympics and Paralympics in London we are anxious to review and improve our elite performance systems. We know that we can deliver higher level performance pathways and the findings of this high level panel will directly inform our future planning. The entire Association will engage fully and productively with this review and hopefully there will be significant recommendations that will contribute to our future successes. I am looking forward to the final report.”
