British Judo are delighted to announce that the 2017 IBSA European Judo Championships will be live streamed in partnership with Alan March Sport Ltd (AMS).

The European Championships from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 August in Walsall will be one of the highlights of the IBSA Judo calendar with a number of Rio Paralympic medallists expected to fight. This will also be the first IBSA Europeans held in the UK since 2011 in Crawley and provides a great opportunity for GB’s VI judoka to compete in front of a home crowd.

The live stream coverage will allow GB Judo and international judo fans to follow all the action across two separate channels at the three-day event with commentary provided by EJU commentator and five-time European medallist Chloe Cowen and Rio 2016 Paralympian Jonathan ‘Jono’ Drane.

As part of the event partnership, AMS will also provide a social media clipping service so that judo fans can see some of the best moments from the competition as well as a highlights package which will be available after the event.

Rob Hartley, British Judo Head of Events, said:

“We’re excited to be building on our strong partnership with Alan March Sport  (AMS) who will be delivering a high quality live streaming service to ensure that the event is as inclusive and accessible as possible.

“This is the first time we will be trialling a live stream service for a visually impaired judo event and we have been fortunate to secure two fantastic commentators to bring the stream to life.

“The event will be the first in an ambitious series of international events taking place in the UK within the 2018-2020 Olympic and Paralympic cycle and our Live Stream packages will be key to each event’s success.”

AMS are one of the leading sports event companies in the UK with a wide range of expertise including commentary, sports presentation and videography. British Judo and AMS have worked on a number of events including the Glasgow European Open, National Team Championships and the British Championships.

Rob Hayes – Events Manager, Alan March Sport Ltd, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be providing the live stream for the IBSA European Judo Championships.

“Our working relationship with British Judo continues to go from strength to strength, and having provided highlights packages for the biggest events on the domestic calendar, we are excited about taking our coverage of judo to the next level – live on an international stage.

“The live stream means that this wonderful event will be opened up to a much wider audience, and we look forward to playing our part in the Championships.”
