British Judo sad to learn of the death of Peter Hogwood

The British Judo Association is sad to learn of the death of Peter David Hogwood, who died age 71 of Parkinsons disease.

Peter was a lifelong member of the Association and was awarded his honorary 1st Dan last year.

Former British Judo Board Member and friend of Peter’s, Mac Abbott, said: “Peter was very well thought of and had a big friendship group within the judo community.

“I have very fond memories of the Sardinia Open and training camps which Peter organised. All the GB players at the time including Kerrith Brown, Densign White, Elvis Gordon, Neil Adams, would all go while I was coaching. It was a great competition and good training camp. I have had many wonderful experiences with him.”

Peter’s funeral will be taking place today at 2pm in Basildon.
