Apply to be Birmingham 2022 Kit Carrier or Flag Bearers
Birmingham 2022 have an exciting opportunity for members aged 14 to 17 to get closer to the action during the Commonwealth Games later this summer as they seek volunteers in the roles of athlete kit carrier and nations flag carrier for judo and wrestling.
Furthermore, they extend the opportunity to parents or coaches of the young volunteers to take on Kit Carrier Team Leader roles.
Key Tasks are Responsibilities
- Escort athletes from the Warm- up, Call Room and Field of Play
- Work with other Team Members and Leaders to ensure that the timing, and services delivered is in alignment with expectations and meets requirements across Sport areas
- Assisting Athletes & Team Officials with general inquiries
- Reporting issues and problems upward appropriately
- Maintaining clean and tidy Athlete Kit /Flag carriers’ areas
- Participating in meetings, briefings, and orientation sessions
The young volunteer pool across Judo and Wrestling will be in groups of 14, each group covering 5 shifts across the rehearsal (31st July) and competition days (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th August). They will all have the 4th August off, and some groups may have another shift off in addition. All groups will be required on 31st for the rehearsal.
Shifts will currently begin in the morning sessions at 07:30am and end at 13:45. For the afternoon sessions, shifts will begin at 15:30 and end at 20:00. This may be subject to slight change.
As a volunteer you will be expected to cover you own expenses, however B2022 will provide meals and uniform, and most importantly a great experience at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
