A junior beginner’s course in Norfolk has sold out in 24 hours in the wake of Team GB’s Olympic success.

The British Judo Association, the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of judo in Great Britain, runs nationwide beginner courses for juniors, youths and adults with their latest and most anticipated instalment set to start in September.

Norfolk’s Wymondham Judo Club, who have been shortlisted for the BJA Club of the Year Award, filled their course in record time as newcomers witnessed the sport come to the fore in London – with inspirational performances from surprise silver medallist Gemma Gibbons and bronze medallist Karina Bryant adding to her glittering medal collection.

Judo is one of the world’s most widely practiced sports and the beginner’s course is designed to provide a fun-fuelled, exciting experience while you receive expert tuition and become familiar with judo’s highly-motivating and rewarding non-competitive grading scheme and start your journey to the coveted black belt.
