As a player Clempner won silver and bronze medals at the 1980 and 1988 European Police Judo Championships. He is a British Judo Level 3 Coach and was the GB Junior Men’s squad assistant coach in 2004/5. He was also a member of the British Wrestling team that competed in the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Clempner is a National Police Judo Coach and is a member of the PSUK Committee. He was a British Judo Personal Safety Co-ordinator for ten years from 1995 and is currently a member of the British Judo Self Defence Commission. Outside of Judo Clempner is a retired Police officer. He is also an Accepted Trainer for Police Officer Safety, mental health issues in custody, an NHS trainer managing violence and aggression, a consultant to non-UK Police departments in the use of force defensive tactics. Chief Tactical Advisor to the International Police Association Defensive Tactics Group UK delivering Level 2 to Level 4 Personal Safety and Security skills in the UK.
