Hungary’s capital is the latest stop on the IJF World Tour as nine British judoka take to the tatami at the Budapest Grand Prix on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 June.

With a number of Rio Olympic Games qualified athletes taking part it will be a high quality competition and good test for the British team.

On Saturday the Livesey sisters Amy and Bekky will be in action with Bekky looking to back up her bronze from Madrid European Open in the -57kg category which includes London 2012 bronze medallist Marti Malloy (USA).

Amy Livesey will be joined in the -63kg category by 2015 Junior European champion Lucy Renshall with Aaron Turner (-73kg) completing the British line-up for Saturday as he makes his Grand Prix debut.

Sunday sees five more of the team stepping on the mat with all hoping to put in strong performances. Both Jemima Yeats-Brown (-70kg) and Jodie Myers (+78kg) picked up bronze medals at the Madrid European Open while Yeats-Brown also gave World No.9 Kelita Zupancic (CAN) a scare at the Podcetrtek European Cup recently.

Max Stewart continues his return at -90kg where he could face local star Krisztian Toth or even veteran American Travis Stevens. Philip Awiti-Alcaraz (-100kg) will be looking for his first Grand Prix result and finds himself on the same half of the draw as Germany’s Karl-richard Frey.

Neil Schofield (+100kg) completes the line-up in his second international competition of the year.
