Course Description:
Introduction and guidance for the delivery of the module Coaching Assistant:
Primarily, Kanji Awards have been developed for coaches to utilise with their young participants 10 – 14 years of age to promote pathways other than competition – coaching, refereeing, and officiating
It is envisaged that club coaches (BJA Level 2 and above), with their wider team, will use this award to encourage, empower, and motivate young people to assist within the club environment during sessions and club low-level competitive events. Longer-term, the aim is to retain young people who will contribute within the various judo technical pathways.
By the end of this workshop, you will:
- Understand the role of ‘Coach Assistant’
- Understand the parts that make up a judo session
- Have knowledge and ability to support the delivery of parts of a session
- Have a basic understanding of why people join and leave judo.
Coaches are encouraged to bring their players with them to be involved and engaged in the workshop.
Three Stands of Kanji Award:
- Coaching Assistant
- Competition Officiating Assistant
- Refereeing Assistant
This is a British Judo Association Licenced Coach Education/Revalidation Course
