Kata-Ha-Jime
Step 1Reach around to Uke’s far collar with your right hand. |
Step 2Put your left arm under Uke’s armpit, lifting up Uke’s arm to place your arm behind Uke and apply the strangle. |
Kata-Ha-Jime - Uke on all fours
Step 1Reach under Uke’s neck to the far collar whilst swinging your leg between their arm and leg. |
Step 2Roll to the right bringing Uke onto their back, maintaining control with your legs. |
Step 3Keep a grip on the collar, lifting Uke’s arm with your other arm. |
Step 4Apply the strangle with your arm behind Uke. |
Kata-Te-Ashi-Koshi-Jime
Step 1Take hold of Uke’s far left lapel and left leg. |
Step 2Whilst maintaining control of Uke, step through with your left leg. |
Step 3Apply the technique by turning towards Uke. |
Koshi-Guruma
Step 1Pull Uke’s sleeve and put your right arm behind Uke’s head. |
Step 2Clamping your partner’s body, throw Uke over your hip. |
Step 3Complete the throw by rotating your hips. |
Uki-Otoshi
Step 1With a lapel and sleeve grip, step back with your left foot pulling on Uke’s sleeve to make them step forward. |
Step 2Dropping on to one knee, pull Uke into the space you have created. |
Step 3Use your grips to complete the technique, whilst staying on one knee. |
Ura-Nage
Step 1As Uke attacks, grab around the waist and bend your knees. |
Step 2Clamp Uke tightly, lift your partner using the power of your legs. |
Step 3Arch your back, thrusting your hips forwards to push Uke upwards. |
Step 4Falling backwards, rotate keeping control of Uke. |
