Tani-Otoshi

Step 1

Take hold of collar and sleeve and place your leg behind Uke.

Step 2

Keeping your leg straight, drop your weight and pull Uke downwards.

Step 3

Continue to pull Uke downwards and backwards over your outstretched leg.

Ude-Garami

Step 1

Hold Uke’s left wrist with your left hand.

Step 2

Place your right hand under Uke’s arm and take hold of your own wrist.

Step 3

Apply the technique by lifting Uke’s elbow and pulling Uke’s wrist towards your body.

Ude-Garami from Kuzure-Kesa-Gatame

Step 1

Start in Kuzure-Kesa-Gatame.

Step 2

Uke will attempt to escape by turning towards you and pushing with their free arm. Grab this free arm turning towards Uke.

Step 3

Pin the arm to the mat and apply Ude-Garami.

Yoko-Guruma

Step 1

Place your foot between Uke’s legs.

Step 2

Put your other leg to the side of Uke and pull on the sleeve.

Step 3

Using momentum, throw Uke in a circular movement onto their back.
