Julia Marczak finishes 5th at Cadet European Championships
Julia Marczak (Judo Sensei London) finished 5th on the final day of the individual competition at the Cadet European Championships in Odivelas, Portugal, to match the result of her brother Derek on day 2.
Marczak had an opening-round bye before defeating Coco-Mia Baur (GER) and Xanne Van Lijf (NED) to book her place in the semi-finals. Defeat to eventual gold medallist Tuana Gulenay (TUR) progressed Marczak to the bronze medal contest where she was narrowly defeated by Anna Oliinyk-Korniiko (UKR).
Earlier in the day, Noah Black (Clyde Judo) was defeated in his opening-round contest against Atilla Dinc (TUR) in the -90kg category.
