The Birmingham European Junior Cup and Training Camp will be taking place at the home of British Judo from 24^th – 28^th June 2023.

Entries are now open for judoka and coaches to register for this European Judo Union (EJU) event. As this is an international competition, the registration process is different to domestic events, but we have put a guide together that will help you.

Judoka

All entries for the event will need to be inscribed through the JudoBase system. Anybody wishing to enter that doesn’t have a JudoBase registration must apply through this link.

Those with a valid JudoBase registration should email events@britishjudo.org.uk to be added to the JudoBase system when submitting your Hotel and Transfer Form.

All judoka must adhere to the rules on approved judogi and backpatches. Further information can be found here.

Coaches

Coaches must also register similarly to judoka if you want to coach matside. As this event is licenced and managed by the EJU, all coaches taking part in the event must be registered through JudoBase to gain accreditation and should hold a Level 2 licence and matside module.

Coaches must also fully adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judo Coaches (found HERE on p63), including the dress code:

Elimination rounds: National track suit with trousers reaching down to shoes or jacket suit with tie

Final block: Jacket suit with tie

Accommodation

British Judo are hosting this event under the guidance and rules of the EJU. Hotel bookings are made directly through events@britishjudo.org.uk with an obligatory minimum stay of 2 nights in the official accommodation. Should you wish to book your own accommodation a service fee of 120€ applies per person. This is standard for all European Cups.

The three-day training camp will take place at the British Judo National Training Centre and is open to all fighters that will include two Men and Women’s sessions per day on Monday and Tuesday and a joint single session on Wednesday morning.

We hope that this event will be a success and is a part of our key strategy for the future development of British Judo; where British Fighters get to compete in an international event on home soil, as well as coaches having the opportunity to coach in an international competition as well.
