National Inclusion Training Day Returns in February!

The British Judo National Training Centre will once again play host to the British National Inclusion Open Training Day on Saturday 11th February 2023.

This is a national training day open to all Senior and Junior players that have a Physical, Sensory or Intellectual Impairment (including under – 8s). All activities with the sessions are suitably adapted for all athletes with a disability so there is fun to be had by all!

BJA Adaptive Working Group Lead Kerry Tansey will be coaching alongside members of the GB coaching team and members of the GB Squad (competition and training commitments dependent).

A number of the successful GB Judo Adaptive Squad Players will also be in attendance on the day.

There will be two mat areas to accommodate different levels of Visually Impaired players and all disabilities. Wheelchair players with their care workers or coaches will enjoy this training day as it is open to all levels of disabilities for junior and senior judoka wishing to have a fun day of training with top coaches involved in British inclusion.

The day is free to attend however you must complete the entry form below.

Timetable for the day

9:30 AM – 9:55 AM Registration at British Judo National Training Centre, University of Wolverhampton, Walsall
10:00 AM Welcome
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM 45-minute workshops: Newaza Skills, Tachiwaza skills and Technical content

(15 – 20 minute breaks between workshops)

MAT 1 – Levels 3, 4, 5

MAT 2 – Levels 1 and 2

 

12:00 – 12:30 PM Lunch (please bring your own)
12:30 – 1:00 PM Presentation from Simon Haycock (Miramar JC) about water safety
1:00 – 4:00 PM Newaza fitness and Randori Mat 1 – Levels 3, 4, 5

Mat 2 – Levels 1, 2

4:00 PM FINISH: Thank you, Rei, pictures
Tea and Coffee provisions for parents/coaches etc
