GB Judoka set for Malaga European Cup
This weekend sees a number of GB judoka in action at the Malaga European Cup in Spain.
On the opening day, Commonwealth Games silver medallist, Finlay Allan (Club: Camberley; Coach: Luke Preston) will compete in the -66kg category. Allan recently finished 7th at the Riccione European Open and will compete at the European U23 Championships later this month.
-52kg British Champion, Chloe Robyns-Landricombe (Team Bath, Adam Hall and Gregg Varey) will compete for the first time since her 7th place finish at the Riccione European Open.
Andrew McWatt (Garioch JC; Stuart McWatt) and Ollie Barratt (Dragons Judo Academy; Stephen Abberley) will both compete on day two in the -100kg category. McWatt recently finished 5th at the Commonwealth Games, representing Scotland, whilst Barratt returns from an elbow injury and competes ahead of European U23 Championships later this month.
Scott Cusack (Edinburgh Judo; Billy Cusack) picked up a bronze medal at the Winterthur European Cup back in July and will compete in the -81kg category.
In the -70kg category, Jessie Edwards (Camberley; Luke Preston) recently finished 7th at the Celje-Podcetrtek European Cup.
