34 Juniors set for Malaga Junior European Cup

This weekend sees 34 Junior GB judoka head to the Spanish province of Malaga for the Malaga Junior European Cup.

Tatum Keen (featured image), who has medalled at her previous three competitions, leads the GB Judo team. Seeded 3rd in the -52kg category Keen is joined by 4th seed Hannah Wood. Wood recently won gold at the Pozan Junior European Cup.

After taking bronze recently at the Coimbra Junior European Cup, Simone Cross heads to Malaga as the 5thseed in the -70kg category, whilst in the +78kg, Chloe Baker competes after making her European Cup debut in Nanterre earlier this month, finishing 7th.

Ethan Nairne defeated Luke Davies in the final of the British Judo Junior Championships in 2021.

Ethan Nairne leads the male GB Judo entries. Seeded 4th, Coimbra Junior European Cup bronze medallist Nairne is one of 5 entries in the -73kg category. He is joined by Cadet Luke Davies, who has recently been selected for the upcoming European Cadet Championships following gold and silver medals at the Strasbourg and Teplice Cadet European Cups respectively.

In the -90kg category Ryan Rijksen-Salman enters as 7th seed following his 5th place finish at the Athens Junior European Cup whilst in the -100kg category Gregor Miller is seeded 5th following a 7th place finish at the Coimbra Junior European Cup in March.

Also representing GB Judo will be Andrew Tremlett and Archi Shrimpton who will be refereeing.
