Tomorrow sees the start of the Junior European Championships in Vantaa, Finland where four British judokas will be in action.
Making her Junior European debut, Sian Bobrowska (-48kg) has had a consistent first full season at junior level, after three 5th place finishes and a bronze medal in at the Paks Junior European Cup. Bobrowska has competed at European Championship level before after competing at Cadet level in Sarajevo in 2018.
Yasmin Javadian (-52kg) has come close on numerous occasions to medalling at previous European Championships after finishing 5th on three occasions at Cadet and Junior level.
Joshua Giles (-60kg) making his Junior European Championship debut, enters in confident mood following his first junior medal at the Paks Junior European Cup. Also making his Junior European Championship debut is Henry Wakes (-66kg), who in his first year at the -66kg category, took bronze at the Kaunas Junior European Cup in May.
Friday sees Kelly Petersen-Pollard (-70kg) and Lachlan Moorhead (-81kg) compete. Petersen-Pollard enters in fine form after winning gold at her last four competitions to add to the two silver medals she won at the start of the year.
Moorhead is experiencing his most successful season to date after claiming two bronze medals at the Coimbra and Kaunas Junior Europea Cups
The draw is made at 6pm (GMT) this evening and Eliminations Rounds in Vantaa start at 9am (GMT), with Final Block due to start at 2:30pm (GMT).
