A ten strong British Judo team will be going for gold at the 2015 World Junior Championships in Abu Dhabi from 23 – 27 October with British judoka in action across the first three days of competition at the IPIC Arena.

At the 2014 Junior World Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Miami British Judo athletes took home a silver in the -70kg through Ebony Drysdale-Daley and a bronze for Jemima Yeats-Brown (-63kg). Yet even with those two judoka out through injury there are a number of strong competitors in action.

2015 Junior European Championships silver medallist Sam Hall (-60kg) is in action on the opening day alongside Neil MacDonald (-60kg), fifth in Oberwart, and Kelly Staddon (-48kg), who finished in seventh at the Europeans.

Saturday will see another 2015 European medallist, Bekky Livesey (-57kg), looking to add a World medal to their collection. Livesey, who missed out on competing in the 2014 Junior World Championships in Miami due to injury will be joined by Jodie Caller (-57kg), Chelsie Giles (-52kg) and Eric Ham (-73kg).

Lucy Rensall (-63kg) will be looking to add the World title to her European gold from Oberwart on Sunday. Lubjana Piovesana (-63kg) will also be looking to improve upon her fifth place finish in Austria while Stuart McWatt (-81kg) will be hoping to back up an impressive bronze medal at the 2015 Glasgow European Open with a strong showing in Abu Dhabi.
