Ulaanbaatar next stop on the Grand Prix circuit
This weekend see the arrival of the Ulaanbaatar Grand Prix, which will take place in the Buyant Ukhaa Sport Complex where hundreds of top athletes from across the world will compete for Olympic qualification points. 2015 Baku European Games competitors, Kelly Edwards, Megan Fletcher, Gemma Gibbons and Ben Fletcher will join Tom Reed and Andy Burns in Mongolia this weekend.
The self-funding team will be aiming to collect more Olympic qualification points in the heart of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
On the first day all eyes will be on Kelly Edwards in the -52kg category. The Commonwealth Games silver medalist will be facing Aerim Kwon (KOR) in her first contest.
On the second day of the event, Tom Reed and Megan Fletcher will be in action. Reed will be competing in the -81kg category, taking on Olympic medalist, Antonie Valois Fortier in the first round of the tournament. Fletcher will face one of her French rivals, Fanny Estelle Posvite in the -70kg category.
On the last and final day, three of the team will be in search of a podium place. Andy Burns will be back on the mat after taking a bronze medal in EL Salvador at the Pan-American Open last weekend. Ben Fletcher and Gemma Gibbons will also be in search of crucial qualification point on the final day of the tournament.
