It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of legendary Pinewood Judo Club Sensei Don Werner, who passed away peacefully last night.

In his time of over 50 years at Pinewood Judo Club, Don produced many National and International Champions, including Olympic Silver medallist and World Champion Nicola Fairbrother and World bronze medallist Karen Roberts amongst many others.

Don’s funeral will be held on Friday, 31 January 2014 at 11.15 am at Easthampstead Park Crematorium, South Road, Off Nine Mile Ride, Bracknell RG40 3DW.

The funeral will be followed by refreshments at Pinewood Social Club, Old Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Berkshire RG40 3AQ.

Family flowers only please, but if you would like to make a donation, this can be given to the Funeral Directors on the day, or posted to Ford Mears & Partners Funeral Directors, 242 Farnborough Road, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 7JW (cheques only please, no cash).
