Judo games are a fun way for coaches to gain their revalidation

It was a coach revalidation with a difference as Judo games were on the menu for those who attended the latest course at Gym-Tech fitness Centre, Newry in Northern Ireland, on Sunday 8 September.

The course was organised by the Northern Ireland Judo Federation and was led by Dermot Heslop 6th Dan, a full-time employee of the British Judo Association (BJA).

The course theme was judo related games which in addition to providing a warm-up before judo training develop strength, skill, stamina, flexibility and knowledge of judo terminology. Great fun was had by everyone who competed in the games covering all aspects of contest judo.

Coleraine Judo Club coaches Philip Duncan, Rebecca Cuckoo and Richard Briggs attended the event, and said it was a huge success.
