Great Britain came home with a silver and three bronze medals after a weekend of action in Estonia and Portugal.

In Tallinn, Estonia, for the European Open, Jan Gosiewski in the -73kg weight category won all his fights up until the final bout where he was beaten to the gold by Israel’s Sagi Muki, securing silver instead, improving on his performance in Bucharest last week where he placed fifth.

Nathon Burns (-66kg) took bronze winning his first two contests by ippon, before losing in the semi-final but came back to win the bronze medal contest with another ippon victory for his second bronze in as many weeks..

Nekoda Davis (-57kg) matched last week’s performance with another bronze win in Lisbon, Portugal for the Women’s weekend’s European Open. She breezed through the first two preliminary rounds but was stopped by Netherlands fighter Carla Grol who scored ippon.

However, she came back into the competition through repechage, beating Canadian Stephanie Tremblay by ippon and then winning the fight for bronze against Serbian Jovana Rogic.

Faith Pitman in the -63 weight category for Great Britain took bronze after winning by ippon in the first round, by waza-ari in the second and then being defeated in the third. She then fought in the bronze medal contest and won by ippon.
