London’s Clubmark clubs see Ben Quilter win bronze

Eight British Judo clubs in London received tickets to see Ben Quilter win a spectacular bronze medal on the opening day of the Paralympic Games thanks to the British Paralympic Association’s Ticket Share Scheme.

All Clubmark accredited clubs in the capital were contacted and Enfield, A1, Heart of Oak, Westcroft, RS Wimbledon, Kelmscott, Northbrook and Tsukuru Judo Clubs were the lucky recipients of the tickets to watch British Judo’s -60kg world number one in action at the ExCeL Arena.

Developed by Sport England, Clubmark is a set of National standards for National Governing Bodies of Sport to adopt and their affiliated clubs to meet. The scheme recognises and accredits clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and child friendly environments for young people.

Karen French, British Judo’s London Development Manager, said: “We’re delighted that the young judokas and coaches from each club were there to witness Ben win a fantastic bronze medal and it’s a day they will never forget.”
