*Recommendations:

  • All British Judo Association Clubs should aim to appoint a Club Welfare Officer (CWO) to assist with the safeguarding and protecting of children, young people and vulnerable adults in the club. The CWO should not be a coach or related to a coach, although we appreciate this can be a challenge for a newly formed club. For more information please click here
  • It is recommended that all clubs open up a bank account in the clubs name, with two independent signatories, to provide transparency in how the club manages its finances. Many funding providers will require this as part of any funding award and therefore it’s advantageous to get this in place as soon as possible.
