Institute of Sport Partnership
British Judo are delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton’s Institute of Sport. By working together at the Centre of Excellence in Walsall the University and British Judo are providing a range of support and expertise not only for the fighters based at the Centre but also the British Judo Performance and University staff.
“The Institute of Sport at the University of Wolverhampton is delighted to be working with the British Judo Centre of Excellence. We hope that we can contribute in various ways to supporting our future champions as they target Olympic and Paralympic success. Our staff expertise in sports science and our labs and other facilities can help complement the services within the Judo Centre.
“Our HealthScan facility is providing important data for coaches and support staff and we are also pleased that several of the fighters are now registered on our Martial Arts coaching degree. By working closely with Centre staff we can provide personalised educational support that will complement fighters’ training and competition schedules.
“This reflects the University’s mission of being the University of Opportunity. As we move forward, I am sure we will develop even closer mutually beneficial ways of working together, in particular, collaborating on cutting edge, meaningful and applied research and teaching.”
