I began my training in judo roughly four years ago under the tutelage of Steve Popal 2nd Dan, who also happens to be a National C Standard Referee.

I also recently passed my Timekeeper’s Course which was ratified by the British Judo Association. I’d like to thank all the officials who assisted me in the training process. In particular to Mike Draper who very kindly took me under his wing together with his colleagues when I was training.

I have recently taken the practical component of Red and Yellow Belt test with certain accommodations due to my physical disability.

When demonstrating my techniques needed for the test Steve Popal granted my request to allow me to use uke when demonstrating a technique at this point.

I should say that I am very grateful to James Whitehead, 1st Dan who very kindly gave me the honour of being my uke for both red and yellow belt.
